Commenting on the Prime Minister’s interview this morning on the
Andrew Marr programme, SNP Westminster Leader Ian Blackford said:

“Theresa May has had two weeks to reflect on her handing of Brexit,
but today’s interview showed that she has not moved an inch or
listened to any of the concerns being expressed right across the
political spectrum. Groundhog day isn’t supposed to be for another few
"At the very least, the Prime Minister could have taken the opportunity to reassure people by ruling out a catastrophic no-deal Brexit - but the very fact that she appeared to casually downplay the seriousness of the situation with an uninspired attempt to re-brand a no-deal scenario was highly irresponsible.
“The fact is, Theresa May is still trying to push a deal through
Parliament which her own economic analysis has shown will cost people
jobs and hurt the economy – and it is no wonder that it cannot carry
the support of MPs.
“By delaying the inevitable defeat in the House of Commons, all she
has done is waste precious time that could have been used to consider
alternative – less damaging - options.
"The SNP, along with other opposition parties, tabled a vote of no
confidence in the UK government. If our motion doesn't succeed,
Labour's only excuse for not backing a second referendum on EU
membership will be removed. We can then all get on with building a
majority for that vote.
“With the clock ticking, and Downing Street incapable of governing,
the SNP will work with others to stop this Tory Brexit disaster.”
