Ian Blackford MP said when MPs return to Parliament this week their top priority must be to stop Theresa May from driving Scotland and the UK into a Brexit 'no deal' disaster.
The SNP Westminster Leader said that despite promises from the Prime Minister to amend her Brexit deal before bringing it to a vote in the House of Commons, she had failed to persuade Brussels to make any concessions, meaning the deal has been unchanged since she pulled the vote last month because she knew she would be defeated.

Theresa May has reportedly spoken to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other European counterparts in recent days, however Brussels has said no substantial renegotiation is taking place, and key Brexit-supporting MPs, including the Democratic Unionist Party, have said they will not support the deal as it stands.
In December, the SNP, along with the Lib Dems, Greens and Plaid Cymru tabled a vote of no confidence in the UK government and Ian Blackford MP has called on Members across Parliament to sign the motion when they return to Westminster.
Ian Blackford MP said:
"It is now clear beyond doubt the Prime Minister's tactic is to run down the clock and deprive Parliament of any alternative to her Brexit proposals, bringing the prospect of a no deal disaster closer. She must be stopped.
"The SNP, along with other opposition parties, tabled a vote of no confidence in the UK government. If our motion doesn't succeed, Labour's only excuse for not backing a second referendum on EU membership will be removed. We can then all get on with building a majority for that vote.
“When Parliament closed for the holidays, the Prime Minister assured MPs she would be working on new, last minute add-ons to her Brexit deal, yet, as predicted, Brussels has said it is not interested. Ludicrously we are in exactly the same situation now as before Christmas with the Tory government again facing defeat but having wasted a month of precious time.”
“With the clock ticking, and Downing Street incapable of governing, the SNP will work with others to stop this Tory Brexit disaster.”

The motion:
Motion under Section 2 (4) of the Fixed Term Parliament Act 2011
"That this House has no confidence in Her Majesty's Government."
The motion of no confidence is published on the House of Commons order paper
