PMQs: MAY MUST HAVE BACKBONE TO SEND BORIS TO THE BACKBENCHES

Ian Blackford MP has called on the Prime Minister to have the ‘backbone to send Boris Johnson to the backbenches’ over his failure to deliver at home and abroad.

The SNP Westminster Leader criticised the UK government’s response to Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Iran Nuclear Deal and said the Foreign Secretary can’t be trusted to deliver a foreign policy message.
Ian Blackford also made reference to the Foreign Secretary’s recent comments on the Customs Union, which undermined the Prime Minister’s position.
Commenting, Ian Blackford MP said:
“We all woke up this morning to a more dangerous world. The situation is now critical. The Middle East is in need of stability with conflicts raging in Yemen, Syria and Iraq.
“Meanwhile, the Foreign Secretary can’t even deliver a foreign policy message abroad in the correct manner.
“Whilst at home the Foreign Secretary undermines the Prime Minister on the Customs Union.
“Theresa May was unable to tell us when the Foreign Secretary will agree with her own government’s positions – and if not, will she have the backbone to send him to the backbenches.”
