Argyll & Bute elected politicians, Michael Russell MSP, Brendan O’Hara MP and Sandy Taylor, Group Leader Of the SNP Council Group welcomed the announcement of a £50million Rural Growth Deal for Argyll & Bute which will be invested in attracting more visitors and businesses to Argyll & Bute, growing Argyll & Bute’s economy by making the most of our natural resources and connecting our businesses to national and international markets.

Commenting they said:

“We are delighted that the Scottish Government and the UK Government have given a transformational vote of confidence in the area by investing £25milion each in Argyll & Bute.

“We have fantastic natural resources, a skilled workforce and a community committed to its future success.

“This boost will help deliver the changes needed to build Argyll & Bute’s fragile economy and build a sustainable future.

“Providing the foundations to allow businesses to grow and improving communications are essential for the survival of our communities. This is a unique opportunity for this area and such investment will prove vital in stemming depopulation”
