SNP HOLD 12 POINT LEAD AS PARTY DELIVERS IN GOVERNMENT

The SNP hold a 12-point lead over the nearest rivals, according to a Panelbase poll for the Sunday Times Scotland.

The poll finds that 40% of voters would back the party at a Holyrood election, ahead of the Tories at 28% and Labour at 22%.

Commenting, the SNP's Business Convener Derek Mackay MSP said:

"After eleven years in government, the SNP still hold a double digit lead over the nearest opposition party - testament to our record of delivering for the people of Scotland.

"The Tories are making a complete mess of Brexit and are refusing to respect Scotland's overwhelming vote to Remain.

"They think they can do anything they like to Scotland and get away with it - but this poll shows the public continue to trust the SNP to stand up for Scotland against out of touch Tories at Westminster.

"Meanwhile, Labour under Richard Leonard are lost in the wilderness and remain unfit for opposition, never mind government.

"With our support remaining strong, the SNP will continue to do what we do best - standing up for Scotland's interests."

Holyrood voting intentions (Panelbase):

SNP 40%
Tories 28%
Labour 22%
LD 6%
Green 3%
